I was born in Ankara, Turkey, and raised in Portland, Oregon. I never became fluent in Turkish, so I was forced to become fluent in body language instead, specializing in nodding and reading a room. Thankfully (or unfortunately), that's come in handy more than actually speaking to my aunts and uncles ever could. I'm the only Dallas Ordulu on the planet. Believe me, I've checked. (Dallas because my mom loves Texas, Ordulu because my dad's from a village called Ordu, so I'm first name: city, last name: village.) I've never been to Dallas, and as someone who loves committing to a bit, I refuse to go as long as I live. Plot twist: I plan to be buried there.
